De Lima reminisced dad while in jail: 'Miss you so much Daddy'

Dear daddy: De Lima misses pa while in jail

As the reality of detention appears to have sunk in, Senator Leila de Lima on Wednesday (March 8) was overcome with emotions as she reminisced about her late father, former Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Vicente de Lima.

The senator attributed to her father whatever character and values she has been keeping all this time.

“I keep thinking of my late father. Could he have imagined my situation now? Did he have the foresight that his oldest daughter would be going through life’s trials of this proportion?” she asked in a handwritten noted dated March 7, 2017 released to the media.

“The answer seems obvious to me. And I can only thank my dear Dad for such gift of foresight and his perseverance in instilling in me an unbreakable fiery spirit. Miss you so much Daddy,” she said.

It has been nearly two weeks now since the time De Lima was ordered arrested by the Muntinlupa City regional trial court (RTC) and detained at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center in Camp Crame due to her alleged involvement in the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) illegal drug trade.
