IPs from Sarangani Province driven away by aerial bombs

An estimated 100 or more indigenous people (IP) families, mostly B’laan and Kaolo, fled from their homes in Sitio Tangis and Sitio Kindag in Barangay Datal Anggas, Alabel in Sarangani province after their communities were hit by series of aerial bombardment conducted by 73rd IB of the Armed Forces of the Philippines since yesterday (February 11).

In Sittio Tangis, six (6) aerial bombs were reportedly dropped since February 11 following the encounters between the AFP and the New People’s Army. Casualties and damage brought by the bombings are yet to be evaluated.

The regional IP group Kaluhhamin or Kahugpongan sa Lumad sa Halayong Habagatang Mindanao reported that the military abducted and tortured four civilians in the area.

The said victims who were reportedly coerced to guide the military in their operations were identified by the group,Kaluhhamin as Renel Mancal, Meon Salda, Fausto Barro, Garson Barro.
